Traveling by bicycle through the length of the country, witnessing the daily life of the Vietnamese and visit those of the most famous sites of the country. You will have the feeling as part of the scene rather than a detached onlooker, seeing Vietnam as close as it can be. This journey from North to South Vietnam covers most major attractions such as the Imperial City of Hue, the ancient town of Hoi An, the beautiful bay of Nha Trang, the romantic hill station of Dalat, and the watery Mekong Delta.

DAY 1 ARRIVE HANOI
Arrive in Hanoi, upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Free to explore the town.
Our Customer Care Executive will meet you at the hotel at 18 00 pm for a trip briefing, answering your questions, as well as giving you some travelling tips in Vietnam.
We then head out for some local delicacies in one of the many fine restaurants in Hanoi.
Overnight at Hotel. (Dinner)

 

DAY 2 HANOI CITY TOUR
City tour of Hanoi with visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his stilt house and One Pillar pagoda, Temple of Literature. Afternoon exploring of Hanoi Old quarter and its shopping streets. In the evening, we enjoy the water puppet show. Overnight Hanoi. (Breakfast, Lunch)

 

DAY 3 HANOI – HA LONG BAY
This morning we will depart Hanoi at 08.00 for a four-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Upon arrival, we transfer to our boat for a cruise of the crystalline emerald waters of Halong Bay. While on board we will have a sumptuous fresh seafood lunch.
Stop to explore some of the limestone caves in the area. We then start to get to our kayaks to discover the area. When the sun comes down we drop anchor for the night. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

 

DAY 4 HA LONG BAY – HANOI

This morning, we continue kayaking to explore Van gia floating village, Luon & Bat water caves. Return to dock at 12 00 pm. Drive back to Hanoi. Tour ends.
Dinner before boarding the Reunification Express train to Hue. (Breakfast, Lunch)

 

DAY 5 HUE CITY TOUR
Arrive Hue in the morning, we are met and transferred to the hotel.
After breakfast at hotel, we are introduced to our support crew and our bicycles. Each bike is then adjusted and fitted according to individual needs.
After a short briefing on Vietnam traffic and some rules of the road, we will warm up our muscles with a short ride to visit Hue Imperial City, Forbidden Purple City. Return to Hue for lunch.
In the afternoon, we cycle to Tu Duc Tomb. Time permitting, we can further the ride to Thien Mu pagoda which is on the other side of Perfume River. (Breakfast, Lunch)

DAY 6 HUE TO HOI AN
We drive out of the city then start cycling along the Highway No 1 to Lang Co beach. Have lunch in Lang Co.
After lunch, we drive to the top of the Hai Van Pass, admiring the wonderful views as we ride to Danang, then by bus to of Hoi An.
Arrive Hoi An in mid afternoon.
We enjoy an orientation walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Assembly Hall, the 200 year old Tam Ky House, and the Japanese covered bridge. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Hoi An is the perfect place to have some clothes tailor-made. There are many tailors, who vary greatly in quality and price. Silks are a good buy here. You may also want to join one of the many cooking classes available to learn how to prepare authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

DAY 7 HOI AN
We have a short city tour of Hoi An in the morning, we will visit Japanese covered bridge, a couple of old houses, Assembly halls, and the local market. In the afternoon, we cycle to Cua Dai Beach for swimming. Evening free to explore the town. (B)

DAY 8 HOI AN – MY LAI – QUANG NGAI
Early start along the coastal route and past scenic rice paddies. We pass Chu Lai, a former American military base. Later in the afternoon we visit My Lai (widely known with the March 16, 1968 Massacre). Overnight in Quang Ngai. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Distance: 140 km
Cycling distance: 60 – 80 km

 

DAY 9 QUANG NGAI TO QUY NHON
Early coastline ride to Sa Huynh beach – which is also a great place for a dip in the cooling South China Sea. We continue cycling past rural villages canopied by coconut palms. We visit a Cham tower before taking our bus the rest of the way to Quy Nhon. Overnight Quy Nhon. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Distance: 175 km
Cycling distance: 80 – 100 km

 

DAY 10 QUI NHON TO NHA TRANG
Another day along Vietnam’s most scenic coastline, with deserted blue lagoons and stone promontories, fishing villages, colored boats, mountain passes etc. Overnight Nha Trang.
Distance: 230 km
Cycling distance: 90 – 110 km

 

DAY 11 NHATRANG
An easy-going day in this most famous seaside city in Vietnam, in the morning we cycle to Po Nagar Cham towers and LongSon pagoda. Afternoon free for relaxing. Optional: cycle to Thac Ba hot spring for mudbath. (30 km) (Breakfast, Lunch)

DAY 12 NHA TRANG – DALAT
Morning bus past Cam Ranh Bay to Phan Rang – visit PoklongGarai Cham towers. Start heading west on our bikes along the zigzag mountain road. The challenge of the day will be the climb up Ngoan Muc pass (which some of us will do in the bus) into the beautiful pine forests, lunch break on Dran pass, which has a great view over Da Nhim reservoir. We carry on uphill and downhill through vegetables, tea & coffee plantation to DaLat. Overnight DaLat. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Distance: 220 km
Cycling distance: 70 – 90 km

 

DAY 13 DALAT
A city tour of Dalat – a beautiful colonial hill-station with cool weather and some interesting sites: HangNga Crazy House, Vien Thuc’s Pagoda, Da Lat railway station, Truc Lam pagoda and Tuyen Lam Lake. Overnight Dalat.
Cycling distance: 40 km

DAY 14, DALAT – SAIGON
We spend most of the day in our support bus to cover the distance from Dalat to Saigon. We’ll pass by numerous coffee, tea, banana and rubber plantations which made the Central Highlands the place the produces Vietnam’s finest tea and coffee. Overnight in Saigon. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Cycling distance: 50 – 70 km

 

DAY 15 SAIGON (HO CHI MINH CITY)
City tour Saigon, including the vibrant, chaotic China town – Binh Tay market, War museum, Reunification Palace. A tasty lunch in between at the famed Pho 24 (Breakfast, Lunch)

 

DAY 16 SAI GON – BEN TRE
Depart Ho Chi Minh City for a scenic morning drive (40 Km / 1 Hours) to the Mekong Delta. Cycling from Tan An to Cho Gao along the country road with beautiful landscapes and rural communities (30 Km / 90 minutes). Arrive at a local home in Ben tre at noon. In the afternoon, take boat cruise on Mekong River, rowing local sampan to meet with local people and see their daily works. Have dinner of traditional Mekong Delta foods. After dinner take in a performance of traditional rural music. Overnight at local house in Ben Tre. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 17 BEN TRE – CAI BE FLOATING MARKET – HO CHI MINH CITY
After breakfast, we cruise from Ben tre to Cai Be on a private boat trip along the mighty Mekong River and its tributaries to view the daily lives of people who work and play on the waterways of the Mekong Delta. Cycling on village trails along the river (15 Km/1 hour). The trip includes visits to the floating market at Cai Be, to an authentic Delta house, to a fruit wholesale market, and to a family-run business producing rice paper – a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine. Return to Ho Chi Minh City some time after lunch.

DAY 18 DEPART SAIGON (B)
Morning transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for departure flight. (Breakfast)
